The Multilingual Name Display feature introduces the following enhancements for displaying user names on various endpoints within the cluster:
First and Last user names, configured in the User and Services Configuration (USC) form, will be displayed instead of the Telephone Directory Names. These User and Services Configuration (USC) Names can include UTF-8 encoded characters.
User and Services Configuration (USC) Names will be displayed in full where space is available.
Names associated with numbers that do not exist in the USC form can be obtained from an external LDAP and displayed instead of Telephone Directory Names. See Multilingual Call Display Using External LDAP for more information.
NOTE: UTF-8 is a multilingual character set that allows you to enter letters and special characters from a wide range of alphabets including Cyrillic, German, French, etc.
If this feature is disabled, Telephone Directory Names, which support ASCII characters only and are configured through the Telephone Directory form or the Directory Name field in the USC form, will be displayed. The following examples illustrate both scenarios.

On applicable IP Sets, this feature is supported in the following display areas:
Main Display
Superkey Phonebook
Prime Line
Call Notification window
The system performs the User and Services Configuration (USC) Names repository lookup on the node where the device making or receiving a call resides, so the user names are not passed through the network. You must activate the feature on each MiVoice Business node on which you wish to perform this lookup. To activate the feature, enable the "Multilingual Name Display" option in the System Options form. For SIP calls, you must also enable this option in the SIP Peer Profile and/or SIP Device Capabilities form. The SIP Peer and SIP Device options, once selected, will only be applied if the System Option is enabled.
Currently the following devices and interfaces support this feature:

Disabling Multilingual Name Display feature disables the Multilingual Name Display Using External LDAP functionality.
The following applications currently do not support this feature: People and Visual Voice Mail.
The feature may be supported for inter-cluster calls, but only if the clusters have unique Directory Numbers (DN) and names are shared at the Network Scope (uncommon configuration). Otherwise, the feature is not supported and it is strongly recommended that you do not enable it to avoid the wrong name being displayed.
The cluster must be fully SDS-synchronized to ensure the proper names are shared on all required systems.
It is mandatory that a DN entry exists in the Telephone Directory form for the DN associated with the First/Last Name configured through the USC form. Otherwise, this feature will not be able to retrieve the name from the User and Services Configuration (USC) Names repository and no name will be displayed.
